Anyone using Deskproto?

Since Fusion 360 is once again trying to carve their user base (what’s it this year? 200+ increase?)

Has anyone started using DeskProto with their PocketNCs?

It looks promising, albeit not as polished looking and feature heavy like other CAMs. Just shy of 300USD for the Hobby Multi-axis license makes it obtainable for the hobbyist.

DesktopPro is not fully supporting 5-axis machines, as far as I understood.

Yeah, their site shows they support indexed A/B and not simultaneous 5 axis. But then I had a fusion subscription that only allowed indexed as well

Old topic but in case anyone else wants to.

I have been using deskproto and I really like it. Learning curve is pretty easy - took me around a week to get it. It is a bit limiting due to its simplicity but I would still recommend it

What are the limiting things you are facing at the moments?
I haven’t really done anything with it.

Hey,
Drilling on a curved surface was a bit difficult, In the end it was easier just to write the Gcode myself for that part.

Fusion seemed to offer more in terms of different strategies.

Im still happy with it, I had a question - emailed the owner and he wrote back same day, so thats also really great.
