Drilling/milling quartz and borosilicate

I was wondering if the Pocket NC could be effectively used to drill/mill angular 1.0-2.0mm holes in quartz and/or borosilicate tubing with a wall thickness of 1.5-3.0mm? Of if anyone has any experience drilling/milling these materials on the Pocket NC?

What size hole are you trying to make and how many? I’d think that you might need a diamond-coated drill to make a hole in glass and that it would be especially difficult in glass tubing, especially in 3-mm or smaller ODs. Looks like you can get a set of (6) coated drills in the size range 1-mm to 2.1 mm for $40 or less with shipping in the US, so maybe just spend the money and try.
