I am testing out a couple machine simulators (specifically CAMplete and Vericut) and was hoping to try them with my Pocket NC V2-10. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find a “machine tool model” for the Pocket NC that can be imported into either software.
Autodesk says that I should contact an Autodesk Partner to request a machine tool model (see image below), but I wasn’t able to find a partner that supports the Pocket NC.
Thanks TP, I’ve given those links a look, but I don’t think any of them provide the necessary machine simulation files for CAMplete or Vericut.
CAMplete seems to require a “machine module” executable. And Vericut seems to require both a “machine file (.mch)” and “control file (.ctl)” for each machine.
I am going to poke around both platforms a bit more tonight. I think it might be possible to custom build the necessary files (using the V2-10 STEP file and post processor), but not 100% sure.
The old SprutCAM product (now EncyCAM) has a “digital twin” of the PocketNC that might include 3D model of the main components. You could try contacting them. Penta Machine Co. might also have a 3D model of the machine.
Or you could try creating your own. I was able to create a digital twin of the Penta Solo machine for EncyCAM that seems to simulate pretty well, at least so far as basic movement goes.
