I don’t see a particular forum for my question, so I thought I would start here.
It has been several months since I used Fusion 360 and I see there are many changes. I used to use the Flow toolpath to mill a cylindrical object (using round aluminum stock), but now it is part of their Extensions which I don’t have. What can I use to ‘turn’ a cylindrical object on my V2-10. I tried using the Turning Operation in Fusion but I’m not getting anywhere because it thinks I’m using a lathe. A lathe would give me the shape I want, but I want to use the V2-10.
And while I’m at it, any tool suggestions for a turning operation on the V2-10?
Any help would be appreciated.
Hi @TriManTed,
I believe the 2D wrap feature in fusion 360 is what you are looking for. I think it’s still part of the basic Fusion standard.
Hope that works,
All the best

I have the same question I think, but…
A wrap toolpath is always perpendicular to the cylinder. Is there anyway of doing something similar, but along the axis of cylindrical stock?
Instead of interpolating round the cylinder in XYZ, using the B table to rotate around the part.
Many thanks,
David.
Hi @davidN
In NXCam we do this by locking one of the axis to a specific value, say Lock X to 0.00. This will make the result you ar looking for. I’m not sure what happens in F360 but the result is typically in the output not what it looks like visually on the screen programmed in your CAM system. It forces the kinematic chain into the this condition. Start checking for similar functions in F360 or the CAM system you are using.
